People of today are so busy that they prefer the convenience that home service service companies provide, massages included. So you can sell your oils to these service companies, or simply hire a few extra people and open our own massage service using herbal massage oils. Though, the key to a good massage lies in two things – the skill of the masseuse, and the ingredients of the massage oil used (the best massage oil you can blend).
With just P250 start-up capital, you can start massage therapy oil business working only an hour or two a day. Though, with this formula, you can finish making your herbal massage oil in just 5 minutes.
How much will you make?
You can put a markup of as much as 200 percent, whether it’s a 10 or 100 ml bottle. You may even make a set of different formulations and sell them as a gift pack for a higher price.
Materials needed:
* Any bottle that holds between 4 fluid ounces and 8 fluid ounces, depending on how much you would like to make. Amber glass is preferred because the colored glass protects the contents from ultraviolet rays that can cause oxidation and degradation.
* 6 teaspoons of carrier oil (Examples of carrier oils are Sweet Almond, Apricot Kernel, Borage oil, Coconut, Calendula or Pot Marigold, Evening Primrose, Grapeseed, Hempseed, Hazelnet, Avocado, Rosehip, Olive, Jojoba, Evening Primrose, and Wheat germ)
* 8 drops of essential oil. (Essential oils are concentrated liquids containing volatile aroma compounds distilled from plants. They are also known as volatile or ethereal oils. The oil is “essential” in the sense that it carries a distinctive scent or essence of the plant. Essential oils are precious. Literally tons of botanical materials are from the earth’s flowers, plants, trees, grasses and roots are harvested and distilled to produce the essential oils and absolutes. The more popular of these oils is the lavender oil.)
Most of these are edible massage oils and they are mostly available from chemical stores.
What to do, if you want to start a natural massage oil business?
* First, decide on the purpose of your oil. Is it to relax? To create a sensuous mood? This is to determine which essential oil to use. For example, lavender and jasmine are used for relaxation, while the citruses (i.e. lemon and lime) and mints (i.e. peppermint) are for energizing.
* Once you’ve decided, select one or more of the essential oils.
* Pour one-two tablespoons of the carrier oil into a low, shallow bowl, and add a few drops of the selected essential oil or oils, swirling the bowl around to blend. If you make more oil than you need, pour remainder into a small stoppered bottle – essential oils are very volatile and will evaporate out of the blend if left uncovered in the open air.
* Pour your finished oil into our amber bottle and close the lid tightly.
