Direct Selling Your Way to Success – Thousands of Filipinos are now making direct selling their business. And they have no regrets for this wonderful industry brought them to great success, fulfill their dreams and get financial rewards.
Like Romy and Cristina Santos, a husband and wife team of Waters Philippines, they started direct selling career when they became dealers in their native province of Tarlac. They believed that an important element in convincing a customer of the benefits of a product is if you use the product yourself. When a party was held one day at Romy and Cristy’s home, they showed their new water mineral pot that Cristy had put in her kitchen. The guests marveled on what they saw. Right then and there the husband and wife sold ten units and earned P27,000.00 in just one day!
Another example of a successful entrepinoy who is into direct selling is Mercy Evangelista. She arrived in Davao in 1969 as a young bride dutifully standing by her man. At the time they had but two suitcases to their name. Four years later, in 1973, Mercy joined Avon. She says that there was little she wouldn’t do to make a sale or to recruit. She recalls being at the bus station at the crack of dawn to meet prospective recruits from nearby provinces. Mercy also made sure her customers got their orders on time. At times this meant personally hauling boxes of cosmetics and hopping on tricycles behind the driver’s seat. That was 25 years ago.
Today, this feisty lady has emerged a champion. In 2000 alone, Mercy sold P160 million worth of Avon products. She owns the commercial building that houses the Avon Davao branch. A beach resort, farm lots, cars and travel opportunities are only some of the perks that she enjoys with her family. Mercy serves as inspiration to many Avon ladies and has devoted much of her time giving talks and sharing techniques with those who want to be successful in life like her.
We all dream of financial success as these men and women have. I am hoping that this little story will inspire more Filipinos to start their own business and become a successful entrepinoy in the future.
